Fire near Highbury & Islington disrupts Windrush line services

A fire beside the railway between Highbury & Islington station and Canonbury station has led to partial line closures, disrupting services on the Windrush line.

Some routes are currently blocked, with trains facing delays, cancellations and alterations. Disruption is expected to continue until around 20:00 while the situation is dealt with.

Despite the incident, services to Clapham Junction are continuing to run as scheduled. However, other routes are being significantly affected:

• Crystal Palace and West Croydon services are terminating and restarting at Dalston Junction
• New Cross services are currently cancelled

Passengers are being advised that tickets will be accepted on London Buses via any reasonable route at no extra cost.

Travellers should check before setting off, as further changes may be made at short notice while normal service is restored.
