GWR issues Storm Bram weather warning as flooding set to disrupt services
Great Western Railway (GWR) has advised passengers to expect significant disruption on Tuesday 9 December, with flooding and severe weather forecast to affect rail services across the region. To help customers manage their journeys, tickets dated for Tuesday 9 will be valid for travel on Wednesday 10 December instead.
A yellow weather warning for rain has been issued by the Met Office, covering overnight on Monday 8 and throughout Tuesday 9 December. GWR says services will be reduced due to the conditions, with flooding expected to cause delays and cancellations. High winds also bring a heightened risk of falling trees and debris, which could affect the safe running of trains.
GWR will continue to issue travel updates and is urging customers to check their journey before setting out. Those who do not need to travel are encouraged to change their plans.
Passengers who choose not to travel can request a full refund through the GWR website.
