Detectives are appealing for witnesses after a robbery at Swiss Cottage Underground station in north London, during which a man was attacked by a group of men outside the station entrance.

The incident took place at around 5pm on Saturday 17 January. Officers say the victim was set upon just outside the station, dragged down a set of steps and threatened with a knife. He was then kicked and punched while his phone and watch were stolen.

Police believe a number of people were in the area at the time and witnessed what happened. Investigators are particularly keen to identify and speak to one woman who intervened during the attack in an attempt to stop it before the offenders fled the scene.

British Transport Police are urging anyone who saw the incident, or who has information that could assist the investigation, to come forward.

Anyone with information is asked to text BTP on 61016 or call 0800 40 50 40, quoting reference 110 of 18 January. Information can also be provided anonymously to Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
