LNER Launches Record Discounted Tickets in Great British Rail Sale

LNER has unveiled its largest-ever offering of discounted tickets as part of the Great British Rail Sale, which begins today and runs until 12 January 2026.

During the week-long sale, passengers can save up to 50% on selected LNER Advance tickets. Around one million discounted tickets are available, with fares starting from £8.35 for journeys between York and Newcastle, and from £27.85 for travel between London and Edinburgh.

The sale includes trips to and from a range of destinations along the LNER network, including Edinburgh, Newcastle, Doncaster, York, and London. Tickets are valid for travel Monday to Thursday between 13 January and 25 March 2026 and must be booked at least seven days in advance. Passengers are encouraged to book early to secure the best deals, with the sale closing at 23.59 on 12 January 2026.
