Transport for London (TfL) has rolled out new features in its free TfL Go app, aimed at giving passengers more control and confidence over their journeys across the capital.

The latest update introduces real-time line status notifications, alerting users to disruptions on the Tube, Elizabeth line, DLR, London Overground, and Tram lines. Notifications can be customised by line, time of day, and even paused while on holiday or outside London, offering a highly personalised travel experience.

In addition, the app now presents next train arrival information in a clearer layout for Tube, DLR, and Tram services. By grouping arrivals by direction and destination, customers can quickly see where each service is heading, helping them plan journeys with ease.

Emma Strain, Customer Director at TfL, said:

“We know how important it is for our customers to feel in control of their journeys, and these new TfL Go features are all about making that easier. Whether it's getting real-time notifications on your line or checking which bus stop to head to next while on the Tube, these updates give our customers the information they need, right when they need and want it most.”

The app’s continuous improvements follow recent updates to bus stop information, allowing users to locate any stop across London, view arrival times, and identify disrupted or closed stops. iOS users can also now view full bus routes on the map, search for specific stops, and save favourites, with Android support coming soon.

Launched in 2020, TfL Go offers real-time arrival information for Tube, bus, and rail services, alternative route suggestions, and details such as station toilets and accessibility information. The app has around 1.4 million monthly active users and has been downloaded over ten million times. Earlier updates also allowed passengers to access their contactless or Oyster account and view journey history directly within the app.

Regular updates to TfL Go form part of the transport operator’s wider commitment to making travel information more accessible, personalised, and convenient for London’s millions of daily commuters.
