Major Disruption After Person Struck by Train Near Outwood
All rail lines between Leeds railway station and Wakefield Westgate railway station have been closed following a serious incident involving a person being struck by a train.
Emergency services were called to the scene near Outwood railway station, with both Network Rail and British Transport Police in attendance as they respond to the situation.
As a result, no train services are currently able to operate between the affected stations, with disruption expected to continue throughout the remainder of the day.
Operators including CrossCountry and London North Eastern Railway have arranged ticket acceptance on alternative services to help passengers complete their journeys. Meanwhile, Northern is working to provide rail replacement transport where possible.
Passengers are being advised that arrangements may change at short notice and should check with their train operator before travelling.
