British Transport Police have issued a public appeal as part of an ongoing investigation into a disturbance at Dalry railway station, urging a woman involved in the incident to make contact with officers.

The incident was reported by a third party on Sunday 15 February, with witnesses describing a confrontation that unfolded on the station platform during the afternoon. At around 3pm, a man was seen directing aggressive shouting and swearing towards a woman believed to be known to him. The pair were not alone, with two young children present at the scene.

According to the report, the situation escalated further when the man began striking a shelter on the platform, kicking and punching it before leaving the station. He subsequently boarded a train heading towards Glasgow Central, while the woman and the children remained behind.

Police enquiries since the incident have focused on identifying the woman to ensure both her safety and that of the children. Officers say they are now seeking assistance from the public after efforts to trace her have so far been unsuccessful.

Anyone who believes they are the woman involved, or who may have information regarding her identity, is asked to get in touch with British Transport Police by texting 61016 and quoting reference 418 of 15 February.

Alternatively, information can be passed anonymously to Crimestoppers by calling 0800 555 111
