Man dies after medical emergency at Dalmeny station near Edinburgh
A man has died after suffering a medical emergency at Dalmeny railway station over the Easter weekend.
Emergency services were called to the station at around 4.30pm on Saturday 4 April following reports that a man had gone into cardiac arrest. The village of Dalmeny lies around eight miles west of Edinburgh city centre.
Paramedics and officers attended the scene, but despite their efforts, the man was pronounced dead at the station. His age has not yet been confirmed.
The incident prompted a response from transport police and ambulance crews, while ScotRail advised passengers to expect delays to services in the area as the situation was dealt with.
A spokesperson for British Transport Police said:
"We were called to Dalmeny station shortly before 4.30pm on Saturday, April 4, to reports of a man suffering a cardiac arrest. Paramedics also attended however sadly the man died. This incident is not being treated as suspicious and a file will be prepared for the coroner."
