Man Injured in Alleged Knife Fight at Colliers Wood Tube Station
A man sustained a head injury following an alleged knife fight at Colliers Wood Underground station in south-west London.
British Transport Police (BTP) were called to the station at 10.30am on Wednesday after reports of a confrontation involving three young men armed with knives. A man in his twenties was subsequently arrested at the scene on suspicion of possessing an offensive weapon.
The injured man was taken to hospital with injuries that are not believed to be life-threatening or life-changing, according to BTP.
A London Ambulance Service spokesperson said:
“We were called at 10.29am today to reports of a stabbing at Colliers Wood Underground station, SW19. We sent resources to the scene including an ambulance crew, an incident response officer and a paramedic in a fast response car. We treated a man for a head injury and took him to hospital.”
A spokesperson for TfL added:
“There is absolutely no place for violence on our network and we are supporting the British Transport Police with their investigation. This must have been very distressing for everyone at Colliers Wood station and our thoughts are with anyone affected by this incident.”
