New international collaboration announced between ROMIC and LSL
The ROMIC Group Limited has confirmed a new international partnership with Locomotoras San Luis S.A. De C.V. (LSL), bringing together two long-established, family-owned companies with more than four decades of experience in the rail industry. The agreement formalises a relationship that has been steadily developing over the past three years, built on shared values and a mutual focus on engineering quality and customer service.
Announcing the partnership, Robert and Mary Coleman said the move reflects the strong cultural alignment between the two businesses.
“We share a deep alignment in values, and we’re genuinely excited about the future this collaboration holds. In business, finding the right partners is never easy; it takes time, patience, and a mutual understanding of core principles. When you do find people, you can truly trust and respect, it’s essential to honour that relationship and deliver on each other’s expectations. This partnership is built on that foundation, and we look forward to what we can achieve together.”
LSL, based in Mexico, brings a significant manufacturing presence to the collaboration. The company has built a reputation for producing locomotives and components that meet or exceed OEM standards, securing major government contracts across Mexico, North America, and South America.
Managing Director José Cardona González said the partnership reflects a shared ambition for the future.
“Built on shared roots and a common vision, our two family businesses unite to create something greater than the sum of their parts; a partnership that blends tradition with progress, and passion with performance. Together, we aim to push boundaries, deliver real value, and leave a lasting mark on the industry we both deeply care about.”
ROMIC will use its global network—stretching across the UK, Europe, Africa, the Middle East, Asia and Australia—to lead on sales, marketing, logistics and long-term support. The company specialises in the provision of high-quality used rolling stock, handling everything from commissioning to training to ensure dependable operation for customers worldwide.
Both companies say the partnership will expand their reach without putting them in direct competition with major OEMs. Instead, they aim to supply tailored rolling stock solutions for clients needing smaller fleets or more cost-effective options. Alongside new locomotives, customers will be offered overhauled and remanufactured rolling stock to suit a wide range of operational requirements. The two firms say their combined strengths will deliver personal, trusted and reliable rail solutions on a global scale.
