West Midlands Railway is urging passengers to check journey times ahead of this weekend’s national timetable change. The update comes into effect on Sunday 14 December and will see alterations to departures and service frequencies across parts of the network, including revised calling patterns at Duddeston on the Cross City line.

While the operator says most changes will be small, travellers are being encouraged to plan ahead and confirm timings before heading to the station. Journey planners have already been updated to reflect the new schedules.

Jonny Wiseman, customer experience director at WMR, said:

“All the new timetables are in online journey planners, so I urge customers to check their travel times before heading to the station. While changes to our timetables are relatively minor this year, this timetable change is nationwide and affects other operators who may have more significant changes.”

Alongside the timetable update, London Northwestern Railway – WMR’s sister brand – will introduce its new Class 730/2 fleet on the Trent Valley Line. The longer trains are designed to boost capacity for passengers travelling through Staffordshire, Warwickshire and Buckinghamshire to London Euston. With features such as air conditioning, charging points at every seat and open gangways, the new units aim to offer a more comfortable and modern journey experience.
