Person Dies After Being Found on Tracks at Thornton Heath

Emergency services were called to a south London railway station on Saturday evening following reports of a casualty on the tracks.

British Transport Police said officers were dispatched to Thornton Heath railway station, on Brigstock Road, at around 6.40pm on December 27. Despite the response from police and paramedics, the individual was pronounced dead at the scene.

Authorities have confirmed the circumstances are not being treated as suspicious. A formal report is now being prepared for the coroner as part of standard procedures.

A BTP spokesperson said:

“Officers were called to Thornton Heath railway station at 6.40pm on Saturday (27 December) following reports of a casualty on the tracks. Paramedics also attended, however sadly a person was pronounced dead at the scene. The incident is not being treated as suspicious, and a file will be prepared for the coroner.”
