Person Hit by Train Near Hove Causes Widespread Disruption

A person has been struck by a train between Hove railway station and Worthing railway station, leading to the closure of all lines while emergency services respond.

Train services through the area are currently suspended, with widespread cancellations, delays and alterations in place. The disruption is affecting routes between London Victoria and Littlehampton, as well as services running between Brighton and West Worthing, Chichester, Portsmouth & Southsea and Southampton Central.

Several stations are currently without trains, including Aldrington, Portslade, Fishersgate, Southwick, Shoreham-by-Sea, Lancing and East Worthing.

Southern has confirmed that trains are unable to operate between Hove and Worthing, forcing significant timetable changes across multiple services.

Major disruption is expected to continue until at least 20:00, with passengers advised to check before travelling and allow extra time for their journeys while the incident is ongoing.
