Police seek man after woman sexually assaulted on District Line
Police are appealing for the public’s help to identify a man following a sexual assault on a District Line train in December.
British Transport Police say the incident happened just before 8pm on Monday 15 December on a service travelling towards Cannon Street Underground station. A man is alleged to have sat next to a woman and sexually assaulted her during the journey.
Officers said the woman attempted to distance herself by moving seats twice, but on both occasions the man followed her and sat next to her again. An image has now been released as part of efforts to establish his identity.
Investigators believe the man shown may be able to assist with their enquiries and are urging anyone who recognises him to come forward.
Anyone with information is asked to contact British Transport Police by texting 61016 or calling 0800 40 50 40, quoting reference 683 of 15 December. Reports can also be made anonymously to Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
