Police Seek Public Help After Sexual Assault on Matlock–Nottingham Train
Detectives investigating a sexual assault on a train from Matlock to Nottingham have released an image in connection with the incident.
The assault took place on Tuesday 30 September at around 4.45pm. A woman boarded the train at Duffield railway station and, while walking through the carriage, passed a group of three people. A man in the group is alleged to have sexually assaulted the woman and made an inappropriate comment before leaving the service at Nottingham railway station.
Police are appealing for anyone who recognises the man or has information to come forward. Those with details can contact British Transport Police by texting 61016 or calling 0800 40 50 40, quoting reference 517 of 30 September.
Information can also be provided anonymously through Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111. Authorities are urging anyone with knowledge of the incident to assist with the investigation.
