Rush hour tragedy at Euston sparks urgent police appeal
Detectives have issued a fresh appeal for witnesses following the death of a woman after an incident on the tracks at Euston Underground station earlier this month.
Emergency services were called to the southbound Victoria Line platform at around 8.55am on Tuesday 10 March after reports of a person on the tracks. Paramedics attended alongside officers, and a 30-year-old woman was taken to hospital in a critical condition.
Despite the efforts of medical staff, she died three days later on Friday 13 March. Her family has been informed.
Investigators have confirmed the death is not being treated as suspicious, and a report will now be submitted to the coroner.
Police believe the platform would have been crowded at the time of the incident and say a significant number of people may have witnessed events but have yet to speak with officers. The platform was evacuated shortly after the incident, which may have led to potential witnesses leaving the scene before they could be identified.
Officers are now urging anyone who was present and saw what happened to come forward as enquiries continue.
Anyone with information is asked to contact British Transport Police by texting 61016 or calling 0800 40 50 40, quoting reference 145 of 10 March.
