Two Men Hospitalised After Early Morning Assault Near Guildford Station

Two men have been taken to hospital following an assault near Guildford railway station in the early hours of Thursday morning.

Surrey Police said officers were called to Walnut Tree Close, close to the station, shortly before 04:00 GMT. The men are currently being assessed in hospital, though police have confirmed their injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.

A cordon remains in place outside the station and there is a significant police presence in the area while enquiries continue.

Despite the incident, access to Guildford station remains open and trains are operating as normal. Officers are encouraging anyone with concerns to speak to police at the scene.
