Detectives have issued an appeal after a teenager was robbed and assaulted on a train travelling between Birmingham and Walsall.

The incident occurred at around 8.30pm on Wednesday 18 February, when the victim, also a teenager, was sitting on board the service. He was approached by another युवक who began questioning him while filming the encounter.

Police say the suspect then demanded the victim hand over his phone before carrying out an assault. The teenager was subsequently robbed of his vape and bus pass during the confrontation.

Officers have now released an image of a person they wish to identify, believing he may hold information that could assist with their investigation.

Anyone who recognises the individual is urged to contact British Transport Police by texting 61016 or calling 0800 40 50 40, quoting reference 711 of 18 February. Alternatively, information can be provided anonymously via Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
