Appeal Launched Following Alleged Racially Motivated Assault at Leicester Station
Officers investigating a suspected hate crime on board a train in Leicester have released an image of a man they want to identify as part of their enquiries.
The incident is reported to have taken place at around 6.50pm on Friday 21 November 2025, as a man attempted to leave a train at Leicester station. Police say he was assaulted by another man during the incident, which is being treated as racially motivated.
Investigators believe the individual shown in the image may be able to assist with the investigation and are appealing to the public for help in identifying him.
Anyone who recognises the man, or who has information that could help officers, is asked to contact British Transport Police by texting 61016 or calling 0800 40 50 40, quoting reference 738 of 21 November.
