Passengers are facing major disruption on the lines between Rugby and Northampton / Milton Keynes Central due to two broken-down trains. While one train has now been cleared, the second remains stranded, with recovery efforts ongoing.

Services across the affected routes may be cancelled, severely delayed by up to 50 minutes, or revised, and disruption is expected to continue until the end of the day.

The issues are impacting Avanti West Coast services between Edinburgh, Glasgow Central, Manchester Piccadilly, Chester, Liverpool Lime Street, Birmingham New Street, and London Euston, as well as London Northwestern Railway trains operating between Birmingham New Street, Rugby, and London Euston.

Passengers are advised to check with their train operator or at the station before travelling. Ticket acceptance arrangements are in place to provide alternatives where possible.
