Colas Rail UK has secured a five-year agreement with Network Rail to operate and maintain the organisation’s fleet of Mobile Maintenance Trains, strengthening its role in supporting railway infrastructure across Britain.

The contract covers eight Mobile Maintenance Trains, built by Robel, which are used by engineers and track workers to carry out repairs, renewals and upgrade work across the UK’s 20,000-mile rail network.

Designed as mobile workshops, the trains allow maintenance teams to complete work more efficiently while improving safety for those operating on the railway. They also help reduce disruption by enabling maintenance and engineering tasks to be carried out in a more organised and controlled environment.

The fleet is positioned across Network Rail’s delivery units throughout England, allowing the trains to be deployed quickly to locations where maintenance work is required.

Jean-Pierre Bertrand, CEO said

“This contract demonstrates Network Rail’s confidence in Colas Rail as a preferred supplier. It is a wonderful recognition of our team’s expertise, their capacity of innovation, and their operational excellence.”
