Detectives have issued a public appeal after releasing an image linked to a sexual assault investigation at Liverpool Street Underground Station.

The incident took place at around 4.40pm on Tuesday 16 December, when a man sexually assaulted a member of staff at the ticket barriers. Police say the assault occurred while the employee was carrying out their duties.

After the assault, the man is reported to have prevented the staff member from leaving the area and continued to follow him. The situation was brought to an end when another member of staff stepped in and intervened.

Investigators believe the man shown in the image could have information that may assist with their enquiries and are keen to identify and speak with him.

Anyone who recognises the individual is asked to contact British Transport Police by texting 61016 or calling 0800 40 50 40, quoting reference 529 of 16 December. Information can also be passed anonymously to Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
