Lines shut between Shenfield and Chelmsford after person struck by train
All rail lines between Shenfield railway station and Chelmsford railway station have been closed following an incident in which a person has been struck by a train.
Emergency services and Network Rail staff are on their way to the scene, with services in the area brought to a halt to allow them to safely access the track and carry out their work.
Trains running between Shenfield and Chelmsford are currently being cancelled, delayed or altered, with disruption expected to continue until at least 18:30.
Greater Anglia advise that your ticket can be used at no extra cost on Elizabeth line services between London Liverpool Street and Shenfield. They have also advised that passengers holding advance tickets will be able to travel on earlier or later services if their booked train is cancelled.
Passengers are being urged to check before travelling, as disruption may change throughout the day.
Rail operators have also warned that any alternative arrangements or ticket acceptance agreements can be withdrawn at short notice so always check before travelling.
