Person Dies After Falling on Tracks at Loughton Underground

A person has died in hospital after falling onto the tracks at Loughton Underground Station on the Central line.

Emergency services were called shortly after 2.30pm on Monday, December 15, following reports of a casualty. The individual was taken to hospital in a life-threatening condition but later died. Their age and gender have not been released.

The British Transport Police confirmed the death is not being treated as suspicious. A file will now be prepared for the coroner in advance of an inquest.

A BTP spokesperson said:

"Officers were called to Loughton Underground station at 2.36pm yesterday (15 December) following reports of a casualty on the tracks. Paramedics also attended, however sadly a person was later pronounced dead at hospital. The incident is not being treated as suspicious, and a file will be prepared for the coroner."
