British Transport Police are seeking witnesses and urging a victim to make contact after a woman was sexually assaulted at Birmingham New Street station last month. Officers say the incident happened on Saturday 18 October in the Eastern Plaza area of the station shortly after 10pm.

According to investigators, the assault was followed by a disturbance involving several people, prompting police to intervene. One man was arrested at the scene on suspicion of sexual assault and later released on bail as enquiries continue.

However, despite officers speaking to those present, they were unable to identify or speak to the woman who was targeted. Detectives are now appealing directly to her to come forward so they can offer support and gather crucial information. They are also urging anyone who witnessed what happened to contact them.

“If you were the victim of this sexual assault, or witnessed what took place, contact British Transport Police by texting 61016 or call 0800 40 50 40, quoting reference 815 of 18 October.”

Information can also be passed anonymously to Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
