Police Seek Witnesses After Teen Gang Assault Outside Fareham Railway Station

Police are appealing for witnesses after a man was reportedly assaulted by a group of teenagers outside Fareham Railway Station.

The incident occurred between 7.30pm and 7.40pm on Sunday, December 14. The 44-year-old victim, who was walking with a female companion, was approached by five teenagers—three boys and two girls—who attempted to steal his rucksack, causing a minor injury in the process.

Hampshire & Isle of Wight Constabulary is seeking information from anyone who saw the attack or who may have footage from CCTV, dashcams, mobile phones, or doorbell cameras that could assist the investigation. Officers believe the group left the area on the E4 bus toward Redlands Lane.

A police spokesperson said:

“We are appealing for witnesses following a report of an assault outside Fareham train station last week. The group are described as between 16-20 years old, white, with one wearing a grey hoodie and another dressed in all black. We would like to speak to anyone who saw what happened and were in the area at the time.”
