LNER has released nearly four million tickets for the upcoming summer travel season, giving passengers the chance to secure their journeys well in advance.

The tickets went on sale on Thursday 12 March 2026 and cover travel dates up to Friday 4 September 2026, with the exception of the August bank holiday weekend. Customers are now able to purchase Advance tickets up to twenty-four weeks before departure for selected services.

The upcoming summer will also mark the first full holiday season operating under LNER’s new timetable, which was introduced in December 2025. The updated schedule includes additional services, increased seating capacity and faster journey times across the East Coast Main Line.

The rail operator expects the extended booking window to help travellers plan holidays, family visits and leisure trips earlier than usual.

Colette Casey, Customer Experience Director at LNER, said:

"Summer is one of our most popular and enjoyable periods, as we welcome customers from across the UK and around the world to explore the incredible destinations on our route. From the Scottish Highlands to historic towns and cities stretching the length of the East Coast Main Line, there is something for everyone - whether it be a family trip making memories or discovering one a hidden gem. With extra capacity and more services than ever before, plus the chance to book twenty-four weeks in advance, this is a perfect time for customers to start planning their summer getaways."
